July 18, the co-chairmen of the Geneva discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia are expected to arrive in South Ossetia. In Tskhinval the spokesmen of the European Union (Philippe Lefort), OSCE (Podrig Murphy) and the UN (Antti Turunen) will meet with members of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva discussions.

As reported to IA "Res" by Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement, Murat Dzhioev, "issues related to international activities of the Geneva discussions, as well as the security issues at the Georgian-South Ossetian border will be discussed at the meeting".
It should be noted that the Geneva discussions are held since October 2008 on the mutually agreed basis, reached after the events of August 2008 in South Ossetia by presidents of Russia and France.
The Geneva talks are attended on a par by delegations of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Georgia, Russia, the US, the EU, UN and OSCE.
