Abel Sanchez, a coach of the world heavyweight ex -champion Murat Gassiyev, said that for the first heavyweight bout, his ward had to box with the challenging rival Joey Daveiko, but this will be a good test for him, reports Boxingscene.

“Murat got a challenging opponent for the debut at heavyweight. Yes, Daveiko has defeats, but he never lost by knockout. If I'm not mistaken, Joey gave up only in a duel with Charles Martin, because he was in bad shape. But in other battles, Daveiko arranged hell for his rivals. I think the fight with the American will be tough, but it should be so, because if you are going to achieve something in heavy weight, you must pass the test,” said Sanchez.

Gassiev and Daveiko will meet on July 27 in Arlington, Texas, as part of a boxing evening, the main event of which will be the fight of IBF champion in the first lightweight title of Tevin Farmer against Guillaume Frenoy.
