Russia holds an interest in the effective leadership of South Ossetia, said the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev at the meeting in Vladikavkaz with the candidate for president of South Ossetia, the head of the Emergency Ministry Anatoly Bibilov. "We hold interest in the effective leadership of the Republic that will help the citizens, which will address the most important problems - Medvedev has underlined. – What about the Russian Federation, of course, we will pursue the same policy - both financially and ensuring the security of the Republic within the framework of the concluded agreements, "- he has added. The first round of the presidential election has been completed. The EU, NATO and PACE, as usual, declared they had not recognized its results. I would like to remind them that South Ossetia is the recognized state and the most important thing for the people is that the elections were held in accordance with the international standards. In spite of numerous statements and accusations, the principle of democratic change of power through the elections is retained in South Ossetia. As it is known, in contrast to many internationally recognized countries, which feel very comfortable in the UN and other international organizations, the power in South Ossetia is not replaced by coups and revolutions, but exclusively in accordance with Law. So it was in 1993, in 2001 and in 2011. The elections and the pre-election campaign have been held without any significant violations.

The former candidate for Presidency of South Ossetia Vladimir Kelekhsaev is going to support Alla Dzhioeva in the second round of the presidential election. «I hope that Alla Dzhioeva will win the second round of presidential election of South Ossetia. According to the Chairman of the Central Electoral Committee of South Ossetia, preliminary results of the counting of votes in the presidential elections and the referendum indicate that according to 78 polling stations this hour from 86 candidates no one has collected 50 % votes and the second round of presidential elections in the Republic of South Ossetia – is inevitable.
The votes were divided as follows:
Anatoly Bibilov (the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations) - 23, 8 %;
Alla Dzhioeva (ex-Minister of Education) - 24, 6 %;
Alan Kotaev (the Deputy Mayor of Tskhinval) - 8, 3 %;

Today, on November 12 a "day of silence" has been announced in South Ossetia in order that the voters could easily decide their choice. As the correspondent of IA "Res" has been informed at the Central Election Committee (CEC) of South Ossetia, the republic is ready for the presidential elections. "According to the law November 12, -the day before the election, - has been declared a ''day of silence''.
