The range of the consular services to the Russian citizens provided by the Russian Embassy in South Ossetia was expanded since the beginning of August, 2012.
As reported IA "Res" by the head of the consular department of the Embassy of Russia in South Ossetia Tamerlan Zaseev, "now, when replacing the passport, the Russian citizens have a choice – to get an old common civil passport or a common civil passport of a new generation, known also as the biometric".

A friendly match between the national football team of South Ossetia and the Serbian national football team from Kosovo has been held at the Republican stadium named after Guram Tskhovrebov in Tskhinval. The Serbian side was represented by a team- the winner of the mini-football tournament annually held in Serbia in memory of the 17-year-old Serb Dmitry Popovich killed by the Albanian gunmen.

The Russian government delegation led by Deputy Minister of Regional Development of Russia Sergei Vereshchagin continues its work in South Ossetia.

A friendly football match between the South Ossetia national team and the Serbian team from Kosovo has started at the Republican Stadium, named after Guram Tskhovrebov, in Tskhinval.
The game was scheduled for August 7 – on the eve of the mourning events in the Republic timed to the fourth anniversary of the Georgian aggression against the people of South Ossetia. However, due to the objective reasons the match was postponed to August 14.

Representatives of the Russian government delegation led by Deputy Minister of Regional Development Sergei Vereshchagin inspected the facilities under construction and restoration in the capital of South Ossetia objects. During the inspection the guests were accompanied by Minister of Construction of South Ossetia Anatoly Maschelkin; they examined a number of socially significant facilities in Tskhinval, including educational institutions.
