A memorial evening dedicated to the defender of South Ossetia Inal Tasoev, perished in the first days of the Georgian aggression in January 1991, was held at the South Ossetian State University, the University’s press service reports.

“Like all his peers, Inal dreamed of a beautiful, dignified life, but his life was cut short by the insidious enemy who sneaked into his native Tskhinval on Christmas night,” the statement of the press service reads.

A meeting of the bilateral committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and North Ossetia-Alania on the cross-border cooperation was held in Tskhinval on Friday.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, the meeting was attended by ministers of internal affairs, heads of departments and services of law enforcement agencies of the two republics, as well as the leadership of the joint information and coordination center.

In Tskhinval, Azamat Bestaev, perished while performing his military duty in the zone of the special military operation, was given the last honours.

Condolences to the family and friends of the deceased were expressed by President Alan Gagloev, Chairman of Parliament Alan Alborov, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, colleagues, relatives and friends.

A representative of the 4th Russian military base, where Bestaev served, has noted that Azamat was the example for his colleagues.

The security forces of South Ossetia and North Ossetia-Alania are working jointly, establishing interaction at the highest level, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev noted during a meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Demyan Laptev.

The head of state noted the positive results in improving the activities of law enforcement agencies, achieved through fruitful interdepartmental interaction.
