A meeting of the of Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incident(MPRI) has started in the Georgian village of Ergneti at the border with South Ossetia .
At the beginning of the meeting the attendees were welcomed by the head of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia Andrzej Tyszkiewicz and the OSCE co-chair Andriy Deschitsa.
Deschitsa has said that at the last round of the Geneva talks, held at the end of March, was noted the efficiency of the MPRI meetings.

Topic number one in the Georgian media for the past few days is a statement of the Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili that in 2008, Georgia had launched a military action before the Russian troops crossed the border. The 33rd meeting in the format of Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI) will be held today in the Georgian village of Ergneti at the border between South Ossetia and Georgia.
As the news agency "Res" was informed at the office of the presidential envoy for post-conflict settlement, "the meeting will cover the issues of security in the areas adjacent to the state border of South Ossetia and Georgia. It will also be discussed the issues related to the citizens of South Ossetia, being kept in Georgian prisons, as well as the missing citizens of South Ossetia."

Prime Minister of South Ossetia Rostik Khugaev has met today with the Ossetian population of the mixed Georgian-Ossetian villages in the Tskhinval district of South Ossetia, expelled from their homes in 1990-92.

The Ossetian grappler, the world champion Rustam Chsiev has won the prestigious tournament «Professional Grappling League» held in the American city of Siklervil (New Jersey, USA). According to the athlete, the tournament was held among athletes of the weight category up to 92 kg.
"The best eight grapplers of the U.S. would have had to take part in the competition , but on the eve of the competition, four of them for unknown reasons, refused to participate in the tournament," - said Chsiev.
According to him, he fought two bouts.

Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on socio-economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia will be held in Tskhinval on April 18. This was declared by the RSO President Leonid Tibilov at a meeting with the heads of the law enforcement agencies.
"The Russian delegation will be headed by Alexander Khloponin - Deputy Prime Minister - Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, co-chairman of the Russian party of the IGC. The draft agenda is almost confirmed, "- said the president.
