12 new cases in a day: an increase in the number of cases is observed in South Ossetia

Over the past day, 12 new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus have been detected in South Ossetia, Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Republic Marina Kochieva told IA"Res" on Thursday.

"During the day, 34 tests were carried out, 12 - showed a positive result. These are 10 citizens of our Republic and two Russian servicemen," she said.

In total, according to her, for the entire period of the pandemic on the morning of October 8, 123 cases of coronavirus were registered, since the day the restrictions on the border with the Russian Federation were lifted (September 15) - 33.

No new cases of coronavirus have been detected in South Ossetia over the weekend

Over the past weekend, there are no new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus in South Ossetia, Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Republic Marina Kochieva told IA "Res" on Monday.

Five people with a confirmed diagnosis of a new coronavirus infection are undergoing treatment in the "red zone", two more were discharged from the infectious diseases hospital on Friday, and another 7 are being treated on an outpatient basis.

Since April this year, more than 5.6 thousand tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in the laboratory of the Committee.
