On the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia S.V. Lavrov with the President of South Ossetia E.D. Kokoity
On 19 January a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs S.V. Lavrov with the President of South Ossetia E.D. Kokoity, who is in Moscow on business trip, took place.
During the meeting S.V. Lavrov and E.D. Kokoity discussed the situation in South Ossetia, a range of issues related to further development of the negotiation process on the Georgian-Ossetian conflict resolution. The sides noted the need to take urgent and effective measures to find a way out of the prolonged deadlock in the negotiation process. They agree that lack of positive dynamics in this process could be a destabilizing factor for South Ossetia and for the whole region, could intensify confrontation, including armed, in the conflict zone.

The mass-media of Georgia have spread the information, ostensibly on the fact of blocking by the observant post of the peace-making forces \"Spider\" of the roundabout road Eredvi-Heiti, which connects the gorges of Small and Big Liakhva and leads to the georgian-populated villages of the northern enclave. Also, there has been spread the information on blocking by the military men of the check point of the peace-making forces of the Transcaucasian main site, passing through the villages with the Georgian population Tamarasheni-Kekhvi.

Today the regular session of the Presidium took place in the Parliament of South Ossetia Republic. Its has been conducted by the Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Republic Znaur Gassiev.

The Russian peacemakers, having received heavy wounds as a result of explosion of the anti-tank mine, have been performed an operation on amputation of the lower extremities by the doctors of the somatic hospital of Tskhinval.

The Georgian side again violated the provisions “On main principles of military contingents’ activities…” and without prior agreement with the JCC carried out rotation of the JPKF peacekeeping battalion from Georgia.

The ambassador of Switzerland in Georgia Lorenzo Amberg with his spouse has arrived with an official visit to South Ossetia Republic. The ambassador was also accompanied by the Director of the Swiss organization on development Derek Mueller, the Assistant under the programs of the Swiss organization on development Таmuna Tsivtsivadze.

On 15 January at 13:05 during patrolling a country road two kilometers north from the JPKF observation point “Pauk” an armored vehicle exploded on an antitank mine. As a result of the explosion were severely wounded two soldiers of the JPKF Russian battalion.

The relatives of the Georgians, arrested in South Ossetia Republic with false dollars, have suffered a temporary detention in the jail of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia Republic – the correspondent of the news agency “Res” was informed about it at the press-service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia Republic.

The situation with the tangerine boom on the Trans-Caucasian main, predictably, has received a political
continuation under the Georgian sauce. The Georgian party, involved in provoking the incident, today has begun ostensibly the procedure of buying up of the tangerines from the suffered businessmen.
