The situation of militarization of borders in the territories adjacent to South Ossetia is worrisome; issues must be addressed in the legal field. This was announced on Wednesday by Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Dmitry Demeshin.

“The situation of militarization of borders in the territories adjacent to South Ossetia is worrying. We see factors of external influences on this process and we want to say that our most important function is just demilitarization,” Demeshin said.

He has noted that it is necessary to use legal mechanisms of interaction with other states. “This should be decided by force of law,” the representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office emphasized.

On Wednesday in Pyatigorsk Demeshin met with Prosecutor General of South Ossetia Uruzmag Dzhagaev.

As noted by Demeshin, there are fewer crimes on the border of Russia and South Ossetia. "The dynamics of the Commission of crimes, especially those related to smuggling, with the direct interaction of our two countries is on the decline We are very clearly working on the implementation of the legislation of the Russian Federation and South Ossetia, the most important factors for us to see the problems of law enforcement in the same vector, "said Demeshin.
