South Ossetian athlete Arman Bitiev became the first world champion from South Ossetia in Koshiki karate. This was reported to the news agency "Res" by the athlete's coach Alan Gabatov. .

At the Shogun Cup Armored World Championship held in Moscow, Bitiev won a landslide victory over his rivals.

“Armand Bitiev competed in the weight class up to 85 kg and won a stunning victory over his rivals. He became the first world champion from South Ossetia in this sport,” the coach said.

The coach has also noted that for the first time in the history of Koshiki karate fighters from South Ossetia were competing in different weight classes.

According to him, the South Ossetian participants of the competition also have prizes.

The winners of the World Championship have become Vladimir Kabisov in the weight class up to 65 kg, Nina Tskhovrebova in the weight class up to 75 kg. The fourth place was taken by Atsamaz Tskhovrebov in the weight class up to 55 kg. A champion of Russia Alexandra Tedeeva was unable to compete due to health problems.

“I am happy and proud of my fighters. We were going to our goal and achieved the best results. My fighters will go down in history as the first to compete at the Koshiki Karate World Championship, Gabatov has emphasized.

Athletes from 20 countries participated in the World Championships in Moscow. For the world champion titles were fighting athletes in weights classes from 60 to 95 kg, as well as in absolute weight.

Each fight consisted of three rounds of two minutes each. Karate in armor, which is also called throughout the world in the Japanese manner "God of Karate", is one of the oldest varieties of the legendary Asian martial arts.
