A meeting of the delegation of the South Ossetian Parliament headed by Speaker Alan Margiev with deputies of the A Just Russia - For Truth faction took place at the State Duma. This was reported by the press service of the RSO legislative body.
Deputy Head of the "SRZP" faction at the State Duma Andrei Kuznetsov greeted the representatives of South Ossetia and conveyed warm wishes from the Chairman of the SRZP party, the head of the party faction at the State Duma Sergei Mironov.
"I think you remember that Sergei Mikhailovich was one of the first Russian politicians who, following the five-day war came with humanitarian aid to South Ossetia," he has reminded. - I would like to say that in general our party, our faction in the State Duma adheres to the principle "Russians do not abandon their own". Therefore, we are closely monitoring what is happening in South Ossetia. We are always open to cooperation, to mutual contacts - both economic and cultural."
According to him, the context of the meeting is clear to everyone - "we are now in a historical situation when the transformation of the world political and economic system is underway."
"One of the main initiators is Russia and Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. I would like to say once again that the reason for this transformation is such a bond - "Russians do not abandon their own", - the deputy emphasized. - And it all started with this, because there is a struggle for multi-polarity, and this struggle began precisely with this unwillingness of Russia to abandon its relatives, its fellow citizens, fellow tribesmen, compatriots, to abandon them in the difficult situation in which they found themselves in Ukraine. And I think that all this is very close and understandable to you."
In turn, Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, Alan Margiev, said that he remembered Sergei Mironov's help very well and appreciated the contribution of the Russian Federation to the fact that the Republic of South Ossetia today is the independent, sovereign state.
"We are grateful and want to note that we were invited to a fairly high-level forum, became participants in the conference "The Role of Interaction of Political Party Factions and Blocs in the Inter-parliamentary Cooperation of the CIS Countries". It is gratifying that today, despite the rather difficult situation that is developing in the world, when Russia again found itself at the forefront of the struggle for peace, for the values for which our ancestors died, we have seen that the CIS countries, representatives of the parliaments of the CIS countries were present at the event and all spoke out in favor of our common memory and our common victory. The context is very important for every nation of the post-Soviet space," Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia has emphasized.
He has reminded that next year the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War is celebrated and this holiday is celebrated at a very high level in the Republic.
The parliamentarian noted that in terms of the number of Heroes of the Soviet Union, Ossetians occupy first place per capita.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation within the framework of the Agreement signed between the State Duma and the Parliament of the Republic, as well as interaction at the level of the "SRZP" faction, cultural issues, in particular, the participation of artists from South Ossetia in the "Golden Knight" forum, problems of political interaction and the search for points of intersection of interests.
Speaker Alan Margiev thanked the deputies of the "SRZP" faction for the meeting and for their willingness to help.
"We are brothers, we are fraternal peoples, and this is first and foremost for us," he said, expressing confidence that cooperation with the "SRZP" will continue.
For the South Ossetian part the meeting was attended by First Deputy Speaker of the RSO Parliament, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislation, Legality and Local Self-Government Zita Besaeva, Vice Speaker of the RSO Parliament, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science Taimuraz Tadtaev, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Relations Zaza Driaev, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare Aleksandr Pliev and Member of Parliament of South Ossetia Atsamaz Bibilov.
For the Russian part, the meeting was also attended by the SRZP deputies Elena Drapeko, Nikolai Burlyaev, Mikhail Delyagin, as well as the authorized representative of the chairman of the A JUST RUSSIA - FOR TRUTH party on international issues Alexander Romanovich.
