The delegation from South Ossetia intends to take an active part in all events that will take place within the framework of the World Youth Festival in Sochi, Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Republic of South Ossetia, head of the delegation Alan Tibilov said at the press conference at the Information and Press Committee.

South Ossetia will be represented at the Forum by a delegation of 131 people - 124 will go as participants, and seven as guests of the event.

“At the festival venues it will be built a dialogue between the states on various topics and we, of course, also want to participate and identify our position, the position of young people and our state. This is a youth forum, but we all understand that this is to some extent a political event, so we want to be represented at the Forum quite weighty ,” Tibilov said.

He has added that this is a very significant event for Russia, “and for South Ossetia in particular, because the Eepublic will be represented by a large delegation.”

“It is an honor and great trust for us. Countries of millions, for example, will come in smaller delegations,” Tibilov said.

He emphasized that the Forum participants from South Ossetia had been selected. Each of the participants, according to him, is a specialist in his field or a young activist.

“The delegation has included young diplomats, journalists, athletes, and cultural representatives. Young people were selected in sixteen areas and in each of them we have people who will clearly state their position and the position of South Ossetia,” he has noted.

Tibilov has added, seven young diplomats will attend the Forum, including those who graduated or are studying at MGIMO.

The head of the delegation noted that within the framework of the Forum there would be a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leading politicians of the Russian Federation.

“Youth are expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We also want to attend this event, we have prepared pressing questions from the youth of South Ossetia,” he has noted.

Tibilov has added that the delegation’s trip to the Forum was provided by President of the Republic Alan Gagloev and expressed his gratitude to him for his support.
