State awards and demonstration performances: South Ossetia is celebrating the 21st anniversary of the formation of the OMSN

Courage, professionalism and dedication of the special police detachment (OMSN) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia invariably serve as a shining example for the younger generation, Presibent of South Ossetia Ala n Gagloev noted during the ceremonial formation of the OMSN personnel in honor of the 21st anniversary of the formation of the detachment.

“The high level of training and readiness of the detachment’s fighters to perform the most important tasks guarantee the safety of the citizens of the Republic and strengthen law and order in the state. You often serve in conditions that require special skills, but decisive actions in the most difficult situations indicate high professional training and constant improvement of the necessary skills,” the head of state said.

Alan Gagloev expressed gratitude to the OMSN fighters for their selfless service, defense of common values and constant striving for perfection.

Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Alan Guchmazov, emphasized that, just like 21 years ago, the detachment’s employees are participating in the activities aimed at preventing and suppressing crimes, detaining dangerous criminals.
The Minister of Internal Affairs presented the President with a commemorative anniversary medal for the 20th anniversary of the creation of the SOBR.

By the decree of the head of state, the OMSN employees were awarded medals “For service in guarding peace in South Ossetia” and “Defender of the Fatherland.”

The most distinguished employees were also awarded the departmental awards.
The special rank of “Police Colonel” was awarded to Police Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Pliev, Deputy Commander of the special police detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

For his great contribution to ensuring law and order in South Ossetia and many years of fruitful work, Ruslan Beteev, commander of the special police unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, was awarded the honorary title “Honored Worker of Law Enforcement Agencies of the Republic of South Ossetia.”

The OMSN was given a UAZ Patriot car from among those donated to the Republic by the head of Chechnya.
At the end of the event, employees of the special police detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held demonstration performances.
