This has been declared by a representative of the International Election Observation «CIS-EMO» Dekrok Olivier at a briefing of the CEC Information Centre of South Ossetia. He has stressed that one can talk about the high turnout of voters - by 10:00, according to him, more than 10% of voters visited the polls.

The international organization "Federation of Peace and Harmony" will inform the Council of Europe on the elections in South Ossetia. This was declared by a member of a group of international observers, representing the Russian public organizations, Gennady Mikhailov at a press conference of the CEC Information Centre. "We intend to bring information about the elections in South Ossetia to the Council of Europe, which is represented by my organization - said Mikhailov. - Despite the fact that the Council of Europe has its own sources of information and Europe has not recognized South Ossetia, however, there is a group that works for the collection of information, where we present the material after its observation and inform the Council of Europe as we see it. And I am sure that this time we will bring them to the true information on transparency, democracy and legitimacy of the today's elections".

The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia appealed to the citizens of the Republic to show active civic stand and to take part in the re-election of the president on Sunday, March 25. Such appeal was addressed to the population of the Republic by the Chairman of the CEC of South Ossetia Bella Plieva at a briefing in Tskhinval. The CEC Chairman asked the observers and the representatives of the candidates having the right of signature on the ballots to comply with the current standards of the electoral legislation at the polls and do not go beyond their duties."The signature authorization representatives should only deal with putting their signatures on the reverse side of the ballot. Observers in the November, 2011 election, which were checking practically each voter`s passport, had no such authority. They could only observe what was happening at the poll.

Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation has announced that due to the scheduled for March 25, 2012 re-run elections of the President of the Republic of South Ossetia and in accordance with the decision of the Central Election Committee, a polling station number 85 for the voting citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia, living or temporarily staying in Moscow will be opened in the Embassy.
