Crimean Parliament has approved the trade cooperation agreement with South Ossetia

The State Council of the Republic of Crimea at an extraordinary session approved an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation with South Ossetia, the TASS news agency reported.

On April 18, 2019, as part of the V Yalta International Economic Forum, the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov and President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov signed an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation for 2019-2022.

"The draft law on the approval of the agreement was submitted by the head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov. The agreement was concluded on April 18, 2019 in Yalta," the Speaker of the Republican Parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, said at the meeting.

The draft law on approval of the Agreement, in accordance with the republican constitution, was adopted in two readings and comes into force from the date of adoption, from August 9, 2019. An explanatory note to the law states that its adoption will contribute to the expansion of international relations of Crimea.

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic - Permanent Representative of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov previously reported that Crimea could share with South Ossetia the experience in the development of agriculture, in particular, viticulture, the processing of essential oil crops for the cosmetics and perfumery industries, as well as in the development of tourism.

The delegation of South Ossetia took part in the last year's forum in Yalta, then Aksenov and Bibilov signed a protocol on bilateral trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation. This was the first cooperation document between South Ossetia and the Republic of Crimea.
