South Ossetian State University and the Nikitsky Botanic Garden of Crimea signed a cooperation agreement in Tskhinval

The A.A. Tibilov South Ossetian State University and the Nikitsky Botanic Garden of Crimea signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev and Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Nikitsky Botanical Garden - National Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences” Yuri Plugar.

“This is a very important agreement for both us and you. I’m sure we will succeed,” Tedeev said.

Yuri Plugar called the signing of the agreement a historical event, having expressed confidence that the agreement will open the way to science for many young people.

“I am sure our cooperation has a great future. In my person as the chairman of the council of botanical gardens of Russia, and all our 120 botanical gardens the university and the institute ones, from Crimea, Leningrad, to the Far East, and this huge potential, consider it, is also signing cooperation with your university today,” he has emphasized.

The signing was also attended by Deputy Director for Science, Head of the Department of Industrial Crops and Biologically Active Substances, Doctor of Biology Oksana Shevchuk and representatives of the South Ossetian State University.

During the meeting, Vadim Tedeev said that South Ossetian State University had signed an agreement with a huge number of universities and scientific organizations of the Russian Federation, and all these agreements were not signed for show - active work is being carried out on them.

“After the events in 2014, our university was the first to sign an agreement with leading universities in Donbass. And recently, our employees defended their dissertations at the universities of Donbass. What I mean is that we make maximum use of the scientific potential of our partner universities. In addition, it would be of great help to us if our graduates and employees had the opportunity to write dissertations at your scientific platforms,” the rector said.

For his part, Yuri Plugar has noted that they are ready to provide the potential of the scientific center for the defense of dissertations to the staff of the South Ossetian State University.

“Over the past 10 years, we have become one of the largest and strongest scientific centers in our field. Of course, we are ready to provide everything that is in our power and the entire potential of our national scientific center to assist in the defense of dissertations. We have dissertations defended from Dagestan, Moscow and other cities, so we will be happy to work in this regard,” Plugar said and invited Tedeev to visit Crimea and their scientific center.

At the meeting, the guests also showed a presentation of their organization. Plugar donated a collection of books about plants of the Republic of Crimea to the South Ossetian State University. The relevant literature about the flora of South Ossetia was handed over to the guests by Vadim Tedeev. In addition, he presented them with commemorative coins of the National Bank of the Republic of South Ossetia in honor of the 90th anniversary of the South Ossetian State University.

The guests will also be shown the beauty of South Ossetia. In particular, today they will see the Tir Monastery.
