Today a solemn ceremony of commissioning the buildings of the FSS Border Control Agency of Russia in South Ossetia has taken place in Tskhinval. The event was attended by South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Elbrus Kargiev, as well as representatives of government and presidential administration of the Republic.
By commissioning the complex has been completed the infrastructure construction program of the Russian border guards in South Ossetia. In addition to the Border Control Agency Complex, since April 2009 20 military bases have been constructed in the border areas of the Republic, where have been stationed four border departments and 16 frontier posts.
Head of the Southern Regional Border Control Agency of FSS of Russia Nikolai Lisinski and representatives of the Border Command showed the guests the administration and accommodation complex. Leonid Tibilov and Defense Minister of South Ossetia Valery Yakhnovets tested the shooting range with state-of-the-art equipment and demonstrated exceptional firearms skills.
Then on the parade ground of the complex was held a solemn meeting, during which President of the RSO Leonid Tibilov congratulated the personnel of the Border Control Agency.
"The third year the Russian border guards, in close collaboration with the KGB Border Guard Service of South Ossetia, have been serving to protect the state border of the Republic, the southern borders of the Russian Federation. All agreements between the two countries have been implementing step-by-step. I am sure that all your efforts will be aimed at solving the tasks set before the Border Control Agency "- the president said.
Russian border guards have been congratulated by Ambassador Elbrus Kargiev, a priest of the Diocese of Vladikavkaz and Makhachkala archpriest Timofei Ostaev, representatives of the FSS Capital Construction Department and building organizations, erected the facilities of the Russian border guards in South Ossetia.
