The South Ossetian freestyle wrestler Alan Zasseev won the gold medal at the World Championships held in Croatia.
Zasseev have risen to the top step of the podium in the 88 kg weight class.
On the way to the final, the athlete had three fights with the wrestlers from Turkey, the USA and Japan. In the final, he was stronger than the wrestler from Lithuania.

The World Freestyle Wrestling Championship among mat masters will be held from October 8 to 13.

"Alan will compete in the 88 kg weight ckass. He is being trained by coaches Tamerlan Kochiev, Azamat Kabisov and Marat Gagiev," the Committee has noted.

The well-known Ossetian heavyweight Murat Gassiev will return to the ring before the end of 2024.

As reported to TASS by the boxer's team, he should have his next fight in October or November.

"Murat will have his next fight in October-November. Preparations are underway now," a representative of Gassiev's team said.

Murat Gassiev had his last fight in September 2023, when he lost to Otto Wallin by split decision in Belek, Turkey. After that, the boxer underwent spinal surgery.

Ossetian athlete Aldat Kesaev has risen to the highest step of the podium at the European Freestyle Wrestling Championship U-17, which is taking place in Novi Sad (Serbia). This is reported by the press service of Ministry of Sports of North Ossetia.

In the final of the weight class up to 80 kg, the Ossetian wrestler defeated Nikoloz Maisuradze from Georgia with a score of 7:4.

Aldat Kesaev is representing the Soslan Andiev freestyle wrestling school and the Taymazov Brothers Club. The athlete is trained by Marik Byazrov and Yuri Slanov.
