Within the framework of the working visit to South Ossetia representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia held in Tskhinval the meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Public Health of South Ossetia, during which were identified proposals to address priorities for socio-economic development with regard to health care facilities.
As the news agency "Res" was informed at the Ministry of Health of South Ossetia, the Russian colleagues had inspected the construction of a children's rehabilitation center in Tskhinval, the policlinic in the township of Dzau, the hospital building in Leningor and a reanimation and surgical wing of the Republican Hospital.
"During the inspection of the hospital in the township of Leningor it is obvious the poor quality of the construction works, the lack of hot water; the surgical wing is also constructed with defects. It is a wooden door in the X-ray room, where there were not conducted the dosimetry studies. The hospital is not equipped; there is no system of central sewer and the electric power source does not meet the requirements. The contractors left the construction site, the act of putting the facility into operation in accordance with established procedure is not drawn up, "- said at the press service of the Ministry of Public Health.
They have added that the Russian Ministry of Health drew attention to the need for a separate examination of the quality of the completed construction works.
"The working group has also noted the absence of an isolation ward for patients with an unclear diagnosis, being under observation, lack of laborotory-diagnostic equipment, a plasmapheresis apparatus. In view of all the above observations, the working group of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation suggested to supply the hospital with necessary medical equipment and to organize a centralized laboratory. Taken into consideration the high morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular diseases, they proposed to establish a vascular center. A number of questions on the repair of the reanimation and surgical wing were also raised, "- added at the Health Ministry.
Attention was also paid to supplying of the district health facilities.
"Taking into consideration the strategic importance of Leningor and Znaur, the hospital in Kvaisa, which is hard to reach and lack of necessary medical equipment in these facilities, it is offered to purchase medical equipment for medical institutions of South Ossetia in the amount of 81 million rubles," – said at the ministry.
In the course of the meetings it was discussed the building of a psychiatric hospital with 50 beds, the construction of tuberculosis clinic, the dismantling of the old building of the hospital in Znaur district and complete overhaul of the pharmacy management of the Health Ministry of South Ossetia.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Anatoly Gulin, Minister of Health and Social Development of South Ossetia Gregory Kulidzhanov, State Adviser to the President of South Ossetia Rodion Siukaev and a leading advisor of financial support and the implementation of long-term (federal) target programs of the finance department and treatment at a health resort under the Ministry of Health Maxim Kudryashov.
It should be reminded, June 4 in South Ossetia arrived a working group of representatives of the federal bodies of executive power of Russia, which also included representatives of the Russian Ministry of Health. The main purpose of the visit of the Russian doctors is to examine the level of health care in the Republic, monitoring of health facilities and the quality of their restoration.
