The work on the document on the non-use of force in the framework of the Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia is very hard, said the EU co-chairman Herbert Zalber after the meeting of the co-chairs of the Geneva discussions with members of the South Ossetian delegation held in Tskhinval.
"During today's meeting, we could say that the situation on the border between South Ossetia and Georgia during the past two three months is more or less stable, that the incidents on the border lines were rare - said Zalber. - We believe that the fact that we meet regularly in Geneva, where we raise these issues, contribute to strengthening security in the region. "
Zalber has also noted that the work on the document on the non-use of force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia is hard.
"We've been working on this document; it is rather difficult subject to talk about, because the expectations of the all parties are very different, - said Zalber. - We will continue to work in this direction. Currently, there is a draft text of the document, but there is still a lot of work in the future. "
Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev has noted that the focus at the last meeting was on the non-use of force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
"The most important thing is that the participants should say they come to Geneva with orders from their countries to work on the question of the non-use of force, so that our people should be protected against another aggression." - said Dzhioev.
According to the OSCE co-chair Angelo Gnedinger, two weeks ago started his duties the OSCE expert, who deals with a question of the missing citizens of South Ossetia.
"Today he has visited South Ossetia, working closely with the Attorney General in Tbilisi, he also met in Tskhinval with the relatives of the missing - said Gnedinger. - We hope that he will complete his work by the end of the year. "
Antti Turunen also stressed the importance of working within the framework of the Geneva discussions.
