The ambassador of Switzerland in Georgia Lorenzo Amberg with his spouse has arrived with an official visit to South Ossetia Republic. The ambassador was also accompanied by the Director of the Swiss organization on development Derek Mueller, the Assistant under the programs of the Swiss organization on development Таmuna Tsivtsivadze. Today the delegation was accepted by the President of South Ossetia Republic Eduard Kokoyty. At the meeting from the ossetian party also were present the acting vice-president of the Head of the Government of South Ossetia Republic Boris Chochiev, the state councilor of the President of South Ossetia Republic Konstantin Kochiev, the acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Republic Murat Dzhioev.
In his salutatory speech the President of South Ossetia Republic Eduard Kokoyty has noted, that he was glad to see the Swiss delegation on the land of South Ossetia. Further on Eduard Kokoyty has told, that the management of South Ossetia Republic made all possible to provide peace and stability in the entire complicated Caucasian region as a whole and in South Ossetia in particular. «The status of South Ossetia Republic for the present is legally not certain, but we consider ourselves as a part of Europe and try to carry out the reforms according to the norms of international law».
From his part the Ambassador of Switzerland Lorenzo Amberg has told, that he was glad to be in South Ossetia and would familiarize with the position of the south-ossetian management. The ambassador has noted that his visit had a familiarizing and basically a humanitarian character. «Today we plan to visit the republican hospital and to transfer a party of humanitarian aid. This action will be carried out under the aegis of Mission of OSCE».
