The youth government of South Ossetia is intending to carry on a protest action against awarding the President of Georgia Michail Saakashvili the state award of France – the Legion of Honour. It was declared by the Chairman of the youth government Michael Bestaev at the meeting with the President of the RSO on October, 17.
Eduard Kokoity has supported this initiative, having noticed that the gesture of the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy can be regarded as the harsh insult. «The person who should be tried by the international tribunal for his crimes, for some reason receives high state awards. And what is more notable, from the European Union country-leader, pretending to the status of the democratic state. This act is the striking illustration of encouragement of the Ossetian people genocide», - Kokoity has declared.
