April 8, 1991 was a black day in the history of the village of Tsinagar
In the village of Tsinagar, Leningor District of South Ossetia, a mourning rally will be held on Sunday to commemorate the victims of the Georgian aggression. As reported to IA "Res" by the district administration, a memorial event will be held at the monument to the fallen defenders of the village.
“The participants of the mourning rally will honor the memory of seven guys - residents of Tsinagar, who were killed by the Georgian aggressors on April 28, 1991. In memory of the fallen defenders, flowers and wreaths will be laid at the memorial,” the district administration said.
On April 28, 1991, mostly young residents of Tsinagar - Tengiz Dudayev, Khubulov Zaur, Otar, Temur, Totyr Margiev, Givi Bibilov and Slavik Chertkoyev were killed by Georgian militants at a time when they tried to prevent the hijacking of a herd of cattle.
Seeing the bandits armed to the teeth, the shepherd ran into the village and began to call for help, almost the entire male population of the village came to the defense. The villagers managed to recapture their cattle, but the attempt of the bandits to hijack the grazing cattle turned into a tragedy for the village. Georgian nationalists, intent on stealing livestock, did not spare the defenders of the village, shooting them on the spot with automatic small arms.
