Recently, a new procedure for the entry of citizens into the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia was published, which facilitates the crossing of the state border by a certain category of citizens. We are not talking about canceling the mandatory quarantine.
A number of citizens, including using the capabilities of the social network Facebook (many of whom prefer to hide their real names), began to spread calls for a significant easing or lifting of restrictive measures.
Some even spread claims that the coronavirus infection is fictitious and that it does not exist, and the opening of the borders will not have any negative consequences for South Ossetia.
However, unfortunately, the tragic picture that has been objectively developing for several months in other countries forces us to reckon with the harsh reality: the epidemic exists, at the moment even the richest countries in the world are not able to effectively protect their citizens from it, the disease is mercilessly gathering its bloody harvest.
Today, the only effective measure of protection for small countries is the strictest observance of all introduced anti-epidemiological restrictions and quarantine measures.
The leadership of the Republic, of course, understands that this causes discontent, but this is the only way to save human lives. God forbid that the same tragic situation that we see in North Ossetia will repeat itself in our country because of the indiscipline of certain individuals.
On the territory of the Republic, the virus was detected only in persons who underwent mandatory quarantine at the medical institutions. Fortunately, due to early detection, all patients suffered it relatively easily and their lives were saved.
Also, limiting the circle of communication of infected people during the illness allowed to avoid cases of infection of other citizens on the territory of the Republic.
According to official data, there is no information on deaths in the following countries: Vietnam, Gambia, Guyana, Burundi, Mauritius, Mongolia, Eritrea, Brunei, Bhutan, Liechtenstein, Papua New Guinea, etc., although cases of infection, unlike South Ossetia, took place there.
It is striking that these are either those countries in which there is a sufficiently strong, almost authoritarian role of state institutions, or those the borders of which, due to their small territory, are easy to close tightly, or both factors together.
Unfortunately, in larger states we see a completely different picture.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting on the epidemiological situation in Russia, said that the situation with the coronavirus pandemic in the country was calming down, but it could still change in any direction. The speech of the head of state was broadcast by the Russia-24 TV channel.
According to him, not all Russian regions have yet managed to achieve a steady decrease in the number of new cases of COVID-19, but the situation in the country as a whole has stabilized. The President called for the preservation and expansion of Russia's healthcare capacity against the backdrop of the pandemic. At the same time, he added that decisions to lift restrictions on coronavirus should be taken carefully in order to prevent a re-growth of cases.
In Russia, 834,499 cases of infection with the Covid-19 coronavirus have already been recorded. The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection in Russia is 13 802 people. There are 191,042 people in the active phase of the disease, of which 2,300 are in critical condition. Mortality rate: 1.65%.
And what about the fight against this world evil in other countries?
In the United States, every minute a person dies from coronavirus (the data from world statistical agencies are used). Terrible statistics are cited by the country's health services.
"Mortality from coronavirus in the United States is growing at the fastest pace in two months. Over the past 11 days, it has increased by 10,000 people," Reuters reported. More than 150,000 Americans have died from the coronavirus. Texas became the anti-leader with 4,300 deaths in July.
In the United States, there is probably more hope for a vaccine than in any other country. Therefore, the FDA plans to issue a permit for emergency use of the coronavirus vaccine within a few weeks.
This week, two teams of scientists began expanded vaccine trials.
As of July 30, 2020, 4,571,065 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus infection were recorded in the United States. The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection in the United States is 153,898. Mortality rate: 3.37%.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has admitted mistakes in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. "Of course, there are things that we did wrong, and we are constantly studying," the politician said in an interview with Sky News.
Experts have repeatedly accused the British government of being too late and inappropriate to respond to the crisis triggered by the coronavirus. The government announced £ 1.8 billion for hospitals in England, with £ 1 billion immediately available to purchase new equipment.
It was also envisaged to modernize twenty medical institutions.
According to him, we should learn from our mistakes as quickly as possible. The worst with the spread of the disease should be over by the middle of next year.
Johnson also announced signs of a second wave of COVID-19 in some European countries. He called for being absolutely honest about what is happening in Europe.
"I am afraid that in some places we are beginning to see signs of a second wave of the pandemic," the politician is quoted by TASS.
The Prime Minister reminded on the need to comply with the restrictions and social distance introduced due to the coronavirus, and to wear masks in public places.
Johnson also defended a mandatory two-week quarantine for arrivals from Spain on July 26.
This move came as a surprise to many Britons who went on vacation to the Kingdom of Pyrenees. "We must take quick and decisive action in cases where we believe that risks are starting to grow again," the Prime Minister stressed.
As of July 30, 2020, 301,455 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus infection were recorded in the UK.
The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection in the UK is 45,961. Mortality rate: 15.25%.
But in France, they are already openly talking about the second wave of coronavirus in the country. "The second wave of coronavirus in France forced the authorities to reintroduce restrictions that were canceled earlier. From next week, masks in premises and public transport will become mandatory. Without them, people may not be served or allowed to enter, " writes Agence France-Presse.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he was considering the possibility of introducing such a rule throughout the country from August.
But the situation did not go according to the best scenario. Masks have already been made mandatory in some parts of the northwestern French region of Mayenne after a rise in cases of infection there, Reuters reports
As of July 30, 2020, 185,196 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus infection were recorded in France. The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection in France is 30,238. Mortality rate: 16.33%.
Germany is one of the five states, where the largest number of infected people has been detected. The basis of the strategy of German specialists in the fight against the pandemic is large-scale testing. As the head of the Koch Institute Lothar Wheeler told reporters, "a lot of tests were done in Germany from the very beginning" and thus it was possible to detect many cases of the disease at an early stage, when it proceeded without obvious symptoms or in a mild form.
Over the past week, according to Wheeler, nearly 350,000 tests have been done in Germany.
German federalism allows local specialists to quickly and effectively carry out diagnostics. in the regions of Germany, there are many well-equipped medical laboratories that quickly get permission to conduct sample analysis.
Many other countries with their central national diagnostic institutes waste too much time researching the samples taken.
The technical equipment of clinics in Germany, which is one of the leading exporters of medical products, is many times better than in most countries. However, Germany has the highest mortality rate due to this disease.
As of July 30, 2020, 209,139 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus infection were recorded in Germany. The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection in Germany is 9,214. Mortality rate: 4.41%.
As knowт, the American biochemical laboratory named after the American Senator Lugar is located in Georgia. Some suspect that this laboratory was involved in the development of a new coronavirus.
These guesses are also confirmed by the fact that a Georgian spy was detained on the territory of South Ossetia, who wanted to catch and take from South Ossetia to Georgia individuals of a rare species of bats that nest on our territory. And let's not forget that according to the official version, it was the bat that was used for the primary spread of the infection in the territory of the People's Republic of China.
Considering that that this biological laboratory is located in Georgia, the Georgian government is well aware of what it is dealing with in the form of coronavirus infection, therefore, it has very actively taken antiviral measures.
As of July 30, 2020, 1,160 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus infection were recorded in Georgia, the number of deaths from coronavirus infection in Georgia is 17 people.
Since May, 89 people infected with coronavirus have been detected in South Ossetia, all of them were in quarantine at the medical institutions, thanks to timely measures taken by the authorities, 88 people recovered and were discharged from medical institutions, one person is undergoing treatment. During this period, more than 3.5 tests for coronavirus were carried out in the Republic.
The tragic example of the surrounding countries should serve as a lesson for us and encourage us to more responsible compliance with the restrictions imposed by the leadership of the Republic.
