The mobile hospital of the Russian Ministry of Defense has completed its tasks to help the local population in the fight against COVID-19 in South Ossetia and is returning on Friday morning to its point of permanent deployment.
As reported to reporters by the press service of the Southern Military District told, the personnel of the mobile multidisciplinary hospital of the Western Military District will make a march on their own on regular equipment from the city of Tskhinval with a length of about 2 thousand km to Alabino near Moscow.
Since the functioning of the mobile hospital in South Ossetia, about 200 patients have been cured, more than 2 thousand PCR tests, 1.6 thousand laboratory tests have been done, the specialists of the mobile hospital have provided outpatient consultations to about 1.5 thousand people.
“All citizens of the Republic received full assistance in the form of antiviral therapy, antibacterial therapy, dental treatment, oxygen therapy and vitamin therapy. Instrumental studies were also performed: X-ray, cardiogram and general blood tests. If there were any problems in organizing the treatment of patients, the local authorities helped us in full,” said the head of the isolation ward of the mobile hospital, captain of the medical service Igor Grishin.
A column of the mobile hospital of the Western Military District arrived in South Ossetia on October 27, 2020 to provide medical assistance to patients with COVID-19 at the request of the
leadership of the Republic.
The next day, the Russian military deployed a 100-bed mobile hospital in Tskhinval on the territory of the Olympus stadium to treat those infected with coronavirus infection. For carrying out medical and diagnostic measures, the hospital is equipped with artificial ventilation devices, monitors for intensive observation of patients, X-ray machines, ultrasound machines, blood analyzers and a PCR laboratory.
The mobile multidisciplinary hospital is a field medical unit designed for inpatient treatment of patients with various pathologies, including infectious diseases.
