President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has met with the delegation of the Federation Council of Russia headed by the Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on international affairs Konstantin Kosachev that arrived in South Ossetia.
"Each of you took a huge part in the formation of the Republic, was next to it in difficult times," the President said, welcoming the guests.
He has expressed the hope that parliamentary ties will revive after a short pause caused by the pandemic, and that the tasks of developing interpersonal and inter-parliamentary relations will be developing.
Konstantin Kosachev has noted that the delegation came to the Republic on behalf of the leadership of both chambers in order to use their stay in the Republic one hundred percent to launch the mechanism of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.
"The fact that the Parliament is not working today hinders the advancement and development of our joint projects, including the adoption of the budget. The decisions we make at any level must reach the people of South Ossetia," he said.
Kosachev has noted that the members of the delegation intend to call on the South Ossetian parliamentarians to creative work, stressing that the Federation Council is interested in the progressive development of South Ossetia, when all the institutions of power are fully functioning in the Republic.
A delegation of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation arrived in South Ossetia on Friday to discuss bilateral cooperation with deputies of the Republic's Parliament. The delegation headed by Konstantin Kosachev includes Crym Kazanokov - Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Seleznev Oleg - Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Taisayev Kazbek - Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, as well as Mikhail Sinitsin, a responsible and accompanying staff member from the office of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
