Rendering all kinds of assistance to the citizens of South Ossetia who are taking part in the Russian special military operation, their families, as well as the delivery of goods to the zone -are the tasks that will be carried out by the profile organization created in the Republic, said Vadim Siukaev, State Secretary-Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Earlier, at the meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies, President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev set the task of creating a public organization for participants in the special military operation.
According to Siukaev, the Defense Ministry, which was identified as the project coordinator, has already done some work.
“In particular, a draft charter of the organization has been prepared, which is undergoing the procedure of state registration in the relevant departments. After official registration, the organization will begin to fulfill all the tasks set by the charter and determined by the head of state,” Siukaev said.
He has added that President has also instructed to create a single data bank and systematize all available information about the participants in the military operation.
“And here we can already talk about concrete results: firstly, we have the information about our citizens perished in the special military operation who showed heroism, courage and bravery, and the detailed information about where the soldier was killed, under what circumstances, there is data from his family members, the address of the former residence of the deceased soldier,” the Deputy Minister has noted.
He has emphasized that at this stage, the defense department continues to collect information about all participants in the special military operation from South Ossetia, who, as is known, are taking part in the regular military units of Russia, as well as in the private military companies and security companies, volunteered to join the North Ossetian battalions of territorial attribute.
“And there are many such citizens. Also, the data bank will include the information about missing servicemen. In order for the information to be complete and objective, letters signed by Minister of Defense Marat Pavlov were sent to all law enforcement agencies, and we have already received the detailed information from some of them. All information is systematized, accumulated and entered into a single data bank,” he has stressed.
Siukaev has noted that interaction with the North Ossetian colleagues was organized; letters were sent to the military commissar of North Ossetia-Alania.
“We are waiting for an answer in order to replenish the database with more detailed information. We know that a similar organization is being created in North Ossetia, which is pursuing the same goals and objectives. The charter of the new public organization of our republic provides for interaction with similar associations, and therefore we look forward to cooperation with our North Ossetian colleagues.
After collecting the information, we will report on the work done to the head of state, select the leadership of the organization, which will be resolving the issues of providing assistance, delivering goods to the conflict zone, providing all kinds of assistance to the families of the lost military personnel and those who were seriously injured during the military defense,” the Deputy Minister said.
He noted that “all-round assistance implies, firstly, the moral and ethical side, so that the South Ossetian military personnel do not feel left out in the Donbass, that is, the thread connecting the special military operation zone with the Motherland should not be interrupted.”
“Secondly, the provision of material and technical assistance is uniforms, special equipment, etc. We will be in constant contact with them, we will take into account the needs of the participants in the special military operation from South Ossetia, by virtue of the available opportunities we will give them attention and will be supporting them. Repeatedly, the head of state, representatives of various ministries and departments went to the zone of the special operation, met with the fighters, provided them with assistance, and in order for all this to take place promptly, we will coordinate this activity,” he has specified.
Siukaev has clarified that the public organization will pursue only those goals that are fixed in the charter.
According to him, it will not be engaged in any political activity.
“This does not apply to the competence of the Ministry of Defense, and even more so, military personnel. The organization will deal exclusively with humanitarian issues. Its leadership will not include military personnel, but only civilians, perhaps from among the civilian employees of the Ministry of Defense and other law enforcement agencies, citizens of South Ossetia who have contacts with colleagues and friends who will contribute to the effective work of the organization. The Ministry of Defense will supervise and provide the necessary assistance to the organization. Delivery of goods to the conflict zone is not always easy. But if we coordinate this issue with our Russian colleagues in advance, the process will go faster and easier,” Siukaev said.
He added that the Defense Minister Marat Pavlov would pay maximum attention to the organization and exercise control over its activities.
Vadim Siukaev has added that after the organization is registered and starts performing immediate tasks, it is planned to provide its activities with information support. A special section will be opened on the official website of the Defense Ministr so that everyone can get acquainted with the activities of the organization.
