President Alan Gagloev took part in a ceremonial event dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Kutuzov and Suvorov Orders 4th Guards Vapnyarsk-Berlin Red Banner military base, the head of state's press service reports.
During the ceremonial rally, the head of state congratulated the command and personnel of the base on the significant date.
In his speech, Gagloev noted the importance of the role of the military base in ensuring stability and security in the region, emphasizing that its activities have become a symbol of strength, fortitude and brotherhood of the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia.
“Since its creation, the base has ensured stability and security in the region. Here, in combat formation, representatives of different nations serve shoulder to shoulder, and this is the true power and greatness of the Russian army,” he has noted.
The President thanked the servicemen for their service and professionalism, emphasizing the special importance of their work in modern conditions.
“Today, when Nazism is once again rearing its head in the world, maintaining peace and security is becoming the main task for all who guard state borders. We know very well what the impunity of extremists leads to, we see how the collective West supports the forces that pose a threat to Russia and its allies. In these conditions, your service takes on special significance. You are the shield that will not allow the tragedies of the past to be repeated,” he has added.
Alan Gagloev paid special attention to the contribution of the servicemen of the 4th Guards Base to ensuring the peaceful life of the peoples of Russia and the entire Russian world, including their participation in the special military operation zone.

The President wished the base's servicemen health, fighting spirit and new successes, noting that their presence in South Ossetia is a guarantee of the stable development of the Republic.
