Georgia is trying to achieve the international discussion of the refugee problem at the UN General Assembly without the participation of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Vyacheslav Chirikba, director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, said during the Moscow-Sukhum-Tskhinval video bridge on the Sputnik-South Ossetia platform.
“We are for all parties - representatives of Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Georgia - to participate in the discussion, but Georgia is against our participation,” he said.
According to him, Abkhazia for this reason refused to discuss the issue of refugees at the Geneva discussions.
“There is a problem, but we suspended its discussion because of its unconstructive discussion behind our back,” he has clarified. “Maybe we will return to this issue.”
