Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev took part in the celebration of the 245th anniversary of the center of higher geodetic education in Russia - Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography.
As reported by the press service of the diplomatic department, in the welcoming speech on behalf of the President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, the Ambassador cordially congratulated everyone present on the significant event.
Gassiev expressed words of deep gratitude to the rector's office and the entire faculty of the university, headed by a great friend of South Ossetia - Rector Nadezhda Kamynina.
"Last year, the important event took place in the field of practical implementation of interstate integration between our countries. As a result of the cooperation agreement, signed on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg between the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation and the oldest educational institution in Moscow, a visit of the university delegation to Tskhinval took place. Thanks to the agreements reached, specialists are currently being trained for the Republic in the field of geodesy, cartography and cadastre,” the Ambassador has noted.
Gassiev has added that providing the opportunity to raise young personnel for South Ossetia is a significant contribution to its development and prosperity.
“Of course, our good cooperation is also a joint significant contribution to the development and deepening of comprehensive cooperation between our countries, which we especially noted in April of this year. Nadezhda Rostislavovna was awarded the Republic’s high award – the Order of Friendship.
On this solemn day, I would like to sincerely wish everyone who makes their intellectual, scientific and educational contribution to the development of modern science not to stop at what has been achieved, to constantly explore the new, the unknown, to set ambitious goals and invariably achieve them,” the press service has quoted Gassiev.
A delegation from the South Ossetian State University headed by Rector Vadim Tedeev has also taken part in the solemn ceremony.
