The State Drama Theater of South Ossetia successfully completed a tour of the cities of Kuzbass, visiting Kemerovo and Prokopyevsk.
As the artistic director of the Rheater Tamerlan Dzudtsov reported at the press conference in the information and press committee, the tour was organized at a high level thanks to the support of the Republic's leadership and Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
"During the tour, the artists presented two plays to the audience: "The Suicide" by Nikolai Erdman and "Boris Godunov" by Alexander Pushkin. The performances were shown on the stages of the Kuzbass Drama Theater and the Prokopyevsk Drama Theater," Dzudtsov said.
He has expressed gratitude to President of South Ossetia, who provided significant support to the troupe during the tour.
According to Dzudtsov, the theater cannot exist without touring, and such trips outside the Republic bring new energy and inspiration to the artists.
"Any trip outside the Republic gives the artist new energy, a new attitude to his profession, this is a necessity. On the other hand, people learn about us on tour. In Kuzbass, our theater has already managed to win the hearts of the public, the theater of South Ossetia has sounded there. As said by the audience, there is a theater in the Caucasus that deserves the best stages and this is not an exaggeration," he said.
In turn, the lead actor in the tragicomedy "Suicide" Andrei Tedeev noted the warm welcome in Kuzbass.
"The audience was active and even asked for autographs - this inspires the actors to new achievements. Such warm meetings allow not only to share art, but also to create a special atmosphere of mutual understanding between the artists and the audience,” Tedeev has noted.
The young actor of the South Ossetian State Drama Theater Georgy Valiev added that “from the first appearance on the stage it was clear that the energy that came from the audience picked up the artist and helped him work.”
“It was easy to work, the delight and applause that we were gifted with were unforgettable,” Valiev said.
The tour of the South Ossetian State Theater in the cities of Kuzbass was taking place from November 19 to 23.
For its first “Big Tour” in this region, the theater chose two different-genre performances – the tragedy “Boris Godunov” and the tragicomedy “The Suicide”.
The Kuzbass Drama Theatre presented its South Ossetian colleagues with a letter of thanks for “strengthening international ties, introducing Kemerovo viewers to modern theatrical phenomena and the emotions they gave.”
