Vladimir Putin: Russia will continue supporting South Ossetia in strengthening its statehood

Russia will continue to support South Ossetia. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin after a meeting with South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov.
"Russia will continue providing the necessary support to South Ossetia in strengthening its statehood, in addressing its economic and social problems. We will, as always, help creating conditions for better standard of living through creation of new jobs and revival of infrastructure, "- said the president of Russia.

South Ossetia and Russia signed an agreement on international traffic

Today, October 24, during the official visit of the President of South Ossetia to Russia has been signed an agreement on cooperation in the transport sector between South Ossetia and Russia. For the South Ossetian side the agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Guram Melkoev, for the Russian side - by Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov.
After welcoming the South Ossetian delegation Maxim Sokolov has noted that due to specific geographical location cooperation in the transport sector is one of the key factors in the development of relations between South Ossetia and Russia and in the region as a whole.

The MPRI meeting is being held at the border of South Ossetia and Georgia

In the village of Ergneti, which is bordering on South Ossetia, has begun a meeting within the framework of the joint Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI).
It is expected to discuss the issues of the missing persons, prisoners kept in the Georgian jails, incidents that have occurred since the previous meeting. The South Ossetian side also intends to raise the issue of the situation in the village of Zardiantkari, bordering on South Ossetia.

A regular meeting of the MPRI will be held at the border of South Ossetia and Georgia

October 23 a trilateral meeting within the framework of joint Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI)will be held at the Georgian village of Ergneti, which is bordering on South Ossetia. This was declared by the RSO Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev at the meeting of the President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov with the heads of the law enforcement agencies of South Ossetia. He has noted that one of the issues that the South Ossetian delegation intends to raise at the meeting is the issue of the South Ossetia citizens convicted in Georgia.

The South Ossetian and the Abkhaz sides in Geneva have again expressed a protest against the artificial imposition of the so-called "international security"

The statement of the South Ossetian delegation for the media on the twenty-first round of the Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in Transcaucasia

October, 10-11, 2012 the twenty-first meeting of the international discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia was held in Geneva. It was attended by delegations of the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, the Russian Federation, the United States, as well as by representatives of the EU, the UN and the OSCE. South Ossetian delegation was headed by Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.
The focus of the discussion was the issue of non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as it had been reached by signing the Medvedev – Sarkozy agreements on August, 12 and September, 8, 2008. South Ossetian delegation noted the need to expedite the conclusion of the legally binding agreements on the nonuse of force between Georgia and the Republic of South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Georgia as the most important legal component of the security system.
