On July, 11, approximately at 20:00 o’clock in the evening, the shooting incident took place, in the result of which the citizen of Georgia was killed. It has happened in the village Knolevi (Georgia) in close proximity to the border of the RSO.
As declared by the Deputy Plenipotentiary of the President of the RSO on post conflict settlement Merab Chigoev, the mass media, in particular, «the Caucasian site» and «Georgia Online», again have caused a stir, having declared all over the world that South Ossetia is involved in this case. «It reminds me of the nineties. At that time the Georgian mass media used each fact of violence, each fact of murder in their dirty political aims in every way to blacken South Ossetia », - Chigoev has emphasized. Merab Chigoev has remembered a case when in the village Ered a half-drunk "combatant" was cleaning a small-caliber weapon and has shot the baby who was lying in a cradle. «I remember how all the Georgian mass-media was yelling over the world that it was a targeted murder, because a killer was the Ossetian. Today, in 20 years, the things are the same - again it is resounded that the young woman was killed by the Ossetians», - Chigoev has underlined. «What can the Georgians living in the frontier area and blindly trusting mass-media think about? At present it turns out that these inhabitants because of the doubtful mass-media, consider that they are surrounded by danger on the part of South Ossetia and that the unlucky woman has been killed by the Ossetians », - Chigoev has added. «In a reality she has been killed by concrete people in Georgia and most likely it was an accident», - Chigoev has specified. Merab Chigoev has also underlined that official representatives of the Georgian authorities have called and have apologized for such slander. «But after all now that is absolutely another question. The whole world has heard again that the Ossetians killed a young woman of the Georgian nationality. I see the only way out. These sites should give an official refutation, of course, if they have a conscience drop. They should apologize to those whom they have shamelessly accused and, of course, they should spread the information on real causes of the woman’s death », - Chigoev has concluded. At the conversation with journalists Merab Chigoev has also presented condolences to the family of the 25-year-old killed woman Nino Koberidze.
