The European Union Observers Mission in Georgia has received confirmation of the Interior Ministry of Georgia that shooting in the village Knolevi (Georgia) which led to death of Nino Koberidze, was not carried on from the territory of South Ossetia. This information has been placed in the official site of the Observers Mission in Georgia.
«Though the incident details are still unclear and need further investigation by the Georgian police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has informed the Mission that it was a casual shooting. As they have said, the shooting was not carried on from the area under the control of South Ossetia, but, probably, it was the result of a casual shot», - is noted in the message. It should be reminded, that on July, 11, approximately at 20:00 o’clock in the evening, the shooting incident took place in the village Knolevi (Georgia) in close proximity to the border of the RSO and led to death of the citizen of Georgia Nino Koberidze. The Georgian mass-media have accused South Ossetia of this incident. According to the Deputy Plenipotentiary of the President of the RSO on post conflict settlement Merab Chigoev, the mass-media should apologize for spreading misinformation.
