Four action groups nominating candidates for the presidency of the Republic have been registered today at the Central Election Committee of South Ossetia. As IA "Res" has been informed at the CEC of the Republic, the action groups nominating a businessman Oleg Kozaev, chief bailiff of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of South Ossetia Sergei Bitiev, the former head of the Dzausky district Ruslan Bagaev, judo coach Inal Dzukaev as presidential candidates, received certificates of registration. "These action groups now have the right to collect the necessary 500 signatures in support of their candidates," – the CEC has explained.
It should be noted, that for today the Central Election Committee has registered 12 action groups nominating candidates for the presidency of the Republic.
The action groups nominating Deputy Defense Minister Igor Alborov, former Chairman of the State Committee of Information, Communication and Mass Media of South Ossetia Georgy Kabisov, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia Yuri Dzitstsoity, a Chairman of the RSO Chamber of Commerce Roin Kozaev, ex-Chairman of the Committee of Transportation Maurice Sanakoev, RSO parliamentary deputy of the IVth convocation Sergei Zasseev, ex-presidential candidate, RSO parliamentary deputy of the IId and IVth convocations Vladimir Kelekhsaev and a consultant of the RSO presidential envoy Leonid Tibilov have been registered by the CEC. February 3 Roin Kozaev actually dropped out of the presidential race- he did not pass the exam on knowing the official languages, but at the moment the CEC has not formally announced its refusal of registration of Kozaev. February 9, 2012 the CEC will complete acceptance of applications from the action groups and political parties nominating candidates for president of South Ossetia. Re-election of the president of South Ossetia will be held March 25, 2012.
