The South Ossetian side hopes for productive work within the framework of the Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI) to address issues of the missing citizens of South Ossetia.
This has been announced today by the new head of the South Ossetian delegation, Deputy Presidential Envoy to the RSO for post-conflict resolution Khokh Gagloity after the meeting of the MPRI participants, which has been held in the village of Ergneti at the border of South Ossetia.
According to him, the main result of this meeting was a hope to clarify the fate of the missing citizens of South Ossetia.
"In this direction the dialogue is still in progress, and we look forward to a productive efficient solution of this issue", - said Gagloity.
Khokh Gagloity, who has taken part in the MPRI meeting for the first time, has pointed out the positive character of the existing format of negotiations.
"There cannot be any personal or policy preferences. I represent South Ossetia in the format of MPRI, and in the interests of the Republic, I will uphold our position, "- said the head of the delegation.
Gagloity said that before the meeting the South Ossetian side, as a gesture of goodwill, had extradited the citizen of Georgia, Zviad Tavadze, 1969 date of birth to the Georgian government;he was detained earlier in the territory of South Ossetia for violating the state border.
Tavadze for the third time was detained three days ago in South Ossetia, this time in the village of Sinagur, Leningor district.
A representative of the KGB Border Control Service of South Ossetia Robert Gazzaev has also told on the issues, discussed at the meeting.
"They discussed the incidents at the border since the previous meeting, the issues of the missing persons and the interchange of detainees. On the latter issue it has been agreed in principle that, by the next meeting both sides will prepare lists of people they will offer to the interchange,"- he said.
Gazzayev has stressed that the Georgian side assured South Ossetian delegation that if they had any information about the fate of the missing persons by the next meeting, it would be provided.
The next meeting of the MPRI will be held on July 26.
