The Embassy of South Ossetia in Russia, at the invitation of Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez, took part in the event on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Russian-Venezuelan diplomatic relations, the press service of the diplomatic department reports.
"The M. A special place in the exhibition was occupied by photographs of several visits of the legendary Hugo Chavez to "Inostranka".

The event was attended by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow.
Diplomatic relations between Russia and Venezuela were officially established on March 14, 1945, when diplomatic notes were exchanged between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the United States of Venezuela.
This agreement was initiated by Venezuelan President Isaias Medina Angarita in the context of World War II and the new world order that was being formed in the post-war period.
The exchange of notes between Ambassadors Andrei Gromyko (USSR) and Diogenes Escalante (Venezuela) in Washington (USA) formalized the establishment of diplomatic ties.
The Venezuelan Embassy in Moscow was opened on April 6, 1945, and José Rafael Pocatera was appointed the first Venezuelan Ambassador to the USSR.
