President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov has received a delegation from the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia, arrived today in Tskhinval to participate in the commemorative events marking the fourth anniversary of the Georgian aggression in August 2008.
As IA "Res" has been informed by the press secretary of the president of South Ossetia Ghana Yanovskaya, at the beginning of the meeting the president thanked the guests for their visit to the Republic, so that, together with all the Ossetian people to commemorate the victims of those terrible days for South Ossetia when Georgia attacked peaceful Tskhinval.
"Today people of South Ossetia are recalling those who gave their lives for freedom. They are both civilians and defenders of Tskhinval. We are also recollecting the Russian peacekeepers, perished in August, while together with us defending our country against the aggressor, "- said the head of the state.
Leonid Tibilov asked the head of the delegation Bibolat Urusov to convey words of gratitude and respect to people of Karachaevo-Cherkessia.
"We, the Ossetians, are friendly people. Our meeting today is connected with the tragic date, but I am sure that our state, our people will continue their friendship and will be developing good neighborly relations, cooperating in all spheres ", - stressed the president.
In turn, the head of the delegation Bibolat Urusov assured Leonid Tibilov that both in those tragic days and today the people of Karachaevo-Cherkessia had been supporting South Ossetia.
"Today's date will always remain in the memory of the Ossetian people. To attack the civilians - is a crime. Our nations must and will only build good neighborly relations ", - assured Urusov.
