The interagency working group of the Russian Federation headed by the representative of the Border Service of the Federal Security Service Gregory Ganovichev visited the villagesin Znaur district of South Ossetia bordering Georgia. South Ossetian delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister of South Ossetia Alla Dzhioeva. The delegation also included the Presidential Advisor of South Ossetia on social issues Rodion Siukaev, a head of Znaur district Vitaly Pliev and others.
First of all, the delegation visited theenterprise "Gruztalk" near the village of Tsnelis. It was noted that in the past the enterprise had been manufacturing various production (ground talc, serpentine, etc.) and was very profitable.
Alla Dzhioeva noted that in case of revival this enterprise would provide jobs for local people, which would influence on the economic growth of the Republic as a whole.
Then the members of the delegation travelled all over the border villages of Balta, Calet, Tsnelis, met with local residents, being interested in their urgent problems, particularly, if they had problems with the border regime at the border crossing. The villagers have noted that they are under the protection of the Russian border guards and now they are confident in the future and the life has returned to normal. The residents told the guests about the most pressing problems - the lack of water supply, health services, the deplorable state of rural roads, a problem with a scheduled transport service, lack of local TV and others.
The residents of the village of Tsnelis also complained about the lack of agricultural machinery, which created great difficulties at cultivating their gardens and fields. In addition, in August 2008 as a result of the Georgian military aggression were damaged the homes of the residents which have not been reconstructed yet.
Deputy Prime Minister noted that at present the government of the Republic was developing a program to support a village. Regarding the reconstruction of the damaged houses, she assured the residents that she would make efforts to include the homes affected in the course of the Georgian aggression in the investment program on promoting socio-economic development of South Ossetia in 2013.
In turn, the Russian visitors promised the local population further assistance in solving their urgent problems.
It should be noted that the interdepartmental group from Russia arrived in South Ossetia on a working visit. The group consists of the experts of different fields of medicine, education, culture and sports. During the event, held from 7 to 12 November, will be organized consultative work with the doctors of health institutions, will be provided humanitarian aid to schools and conducted professional trainings for teachers of secondary schools.
Residents of South Ossetia in this period can visit the mobile exhibition of the Russian FSS Central Museum and attend the competitions in volleyball, mini-football of the teams of the law enforcement agencies and other departments of the country.
Today Russian inter-agency group is working in Leningor district of South Ossetia.
