South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has presented state awards to officers of law enforcement agencies. The ceremony has been dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
The President has congratulated those present on the past holiday, noting that thanks to the unparalleled courage and heroism of the defenders of South Ossetia during the Georgian aggression, the Republic today is independent and recognized.
"You are heroes, loyal sons of your country, ready at any moment to defend your fatherland", - said the president.
He has stressed that to ensure security of South Ossetia remains one of the main directions of the policy of the Republican leadership.
"We need efficient, mobile and well-equipped army. These lines will be significantly strengthened with the signing of the Treaty of alliance and integration with Russia ", - said the president.
For courage and heroism while defending the freedom and independence of South Ossetia, the officers of the law enforcement agencies of the Republic were awarded medals "Defender of the Fatherland", as well as honorary diplomas.
On behalf of the defenders of South Ossetia the President was thanked by Madina Plieva -the head of the fund to support the wounded disabled during the hostilities on the territory of the Republic in 1989 - 2008.
"We are grateful for your constant support and attention to invalids. These guys have sacrificed their health in the name of freedom and independence of South Ossetia ", - said Plieva.
The president has also presented the Order of Friendship to road builders distinguished themselves during the construction of the Zar bypass road.
