President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov congratulated the officers of the Border Directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia on the Day of the Border Guard, the press service of the head of state reports.
A ceremonial event took place at the FSB Federal Security Service Directorate in South Ossetia. The event was attended by Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, Chairman of the RSO State Security Committee Oleg Shiran, Head of the Border Guard Service of the KGB RSO Valery Alikhanty Commander of the 4th Russian military base Alexander Kravtsov.
Head of the Border Directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia Vladimir Schemelinin noted that the Border Directorate, in cooperation with the Border Guard Service of the KGB RSO, is taking effective measures to implement the forms and methods of protecting the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia.
“From May 28, 2019 to the present time, the Border Guard officers detained 172 violators of the state border and its regime, 272 violators of the border regime. All persons were transferred to the employees of the Frontier Service of the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia,” Vladimir Schemelinin noted in his speech.
He expressed gratitude to the Pesident of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, who "pays great attention to the protection of the state border and the problems associated with it."
Vladimir Schemelinin has also noted that the Border Administration’s employees “face active support in the suppression of illegal activities at the state border from the interacting units of the Border Service of the State Security Committee of the Republic of South Ossetia”.
Anatoly Bibilov thanked the border guards for their service, in particular, for protecting the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“You worthily carry on the traditions that veterans of the border service have left for you. As for you personally, the head of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of South Ossetia determined the achievements that you, the servicemen of the Border Directorate, who carry out their duty on the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia, have. Thanks for the service. I’m sure that you will continue to carry out the tasks that the FSB border service and the leadership of the Russian Federation as a whole set for you,” the President said.
He especially thanked the officers of the Border Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia for their close cooperation with the Border Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia and the State Security Committee.
The distinguished employees of the Border Administration were encouraged by state awards of the Republic of South Ossetia.
