South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev sent a note of condolences to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Faisal al-Mikdad, in connection with the terrorist attack in Damascus.
"With sorrow I received the news of the tragedy - a terrorist act in the center of Damascus, which entailed numerous human casualties. I ask you to convey my words of sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, and wishes for a speedy recovery to the victims," the note with condolences reads.
The Foreign Minister has noted that South Ossetia expresses solidarity with Syria against all forms of terrorism. “I am confident that people of Syria and friends of the Syrian people will jointly triumph over this evil,” the diplomat emphasized.
The explosion of a bus with military personnel in Damascus occurred on 20 October. The terrorists detonated two explosive devices on the road when the Syrian army bus was passing along it. At the time of the explosion, there were servicemen in the cabin, 14 of whom died on the spot.
