The Ossetian community of the Sechenov University represented the Republic at the Unity Day festival of nations, the press service of the Moscow Ossetian Community reports.

“Over the course of seven days, the students represented dozens of Russian regions and foreign countries, and various events were organized at various university venues.

These were sports competitions, intellectual quizzes, a food fest, and a donor campaign was held,” the press service has noted.

The culmination of the holiday was the Unity Day concert.

“It is for this event that students prepare most thoroughly every year.

The main day of the festival began with the exhibition — 23 communities presented stands dedicated to their culture. The students got acquainted, took photos, and studied the traditions of the peoples with whom they studied at the same university. Professional artists and national ensembles helped the students in organizing the holiday,” the organization has noted.

The Ossetian community distinguished itself by its originality — the guys prepared the artistic sketch based on a plot from the Nart epic. Students from other Moscow universities came to support them.

“This week has become a time of unity, inspiration, and new opportunities,” Marat Gibizov, a third-year student and chairman of the Council of Community Organizations, the Council of Students of the Sechenov University said. “Our organization has 39 community organizations and is growing every year — thanks to the active work of students and the enormous support from the university administration. This year, guests from 12 embassies and 10 permanent missions of foreign states in Russia came to the Unity Day — for us, this is a great honor and joy.”

Support for students from Ossetia was provided by the employees of the permanent mission of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania to President of the Russian Federation and members of the Moscow Ossetian community, who were the honorary guests of the interethnic holiday.

The festival was first organized in 2022 to strengthen the unity and friendship of young people, representatives of different nations.

This year, the gala concert was attended by more than 1,500 people.
