The date of Alan Gagloev's coming into office to the post of President of South Ossetia will be determined after the official announcement of the election results, said the head of the Central Election Commission, Emilia Gagiev, speaking on Monday at the international press center of the CEC in Tskhinval.
“According to Article 49 of the constitutional law of the Republic “On presidential elections”, the CEC determines the results of the presidential elections no later than five days after the election day.
The president, elected in accordance with the constitution of the Republic, takes office by constitutional laws on the tenth day after the official announcement of the results of the presidential election by the CEC,” Gagieva said.
South Ossetian presidential candidate and leader of the Nykhas political party, Alan Gagloev, leading the election with 54.2% of the vote, while incumbent President Anatoly Bibilov has 43.30% of the vote after more than 97% of the protocols have been processed.
