In 2023, the State Security Committee of South Ossetia has identified three citizens of the Republic who maintained stable contacts with representatives of special agencies of the hostile foreign state and on whose instructions they were collecting and transmitting the information regarding the situation in South Ossetia. This was reported by the press service of the KGB.
As noted by the department, as part of their subversive activities, representatives of foreign intelligence services used blackmail and intimidation to persuade residents of South Ossetia to cooperate.
"The State Security Committee has taken preventive measures against these individuals – official warnings have been announced about the inadmissibility of actions that create conditions for committing a crime under articles 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia "High Treason"," the press service noted.
