President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev presented state awards to Ruslan Gusarov, the author of the film "Power", and Vadim Goncharov, ex-producer and cameraman of the North Caucasus NTV Center.

On Wednesday evening, the State Drama Theater hosted a screening of the film "Power" as part of the International Forum "South Ossetia. 15 years of recognition of the independence of the Republic by the Russian Federation”, which was being held in Tskhinval from 15 to 16 August.

The head of state has welcomed the participants and guests of the Forum, noting that special, fraternal relations have developed between Russia and South Ossetia.

“Cooperation is very important not only in the political and economic, but also in the humanitarian sphere. Simple human relations bring the friendship of our peoples closer together. I would like to thank everyone who made this event possible.

We have seen a film where absolutely right words sound; we have seen that native attitude. Today, 15 years later, our friends are with us again. Thank you for remembering and appreciating the Ossetian people,” said Gagloev.

For merits in the field of journalism, as well as courage and dedication shown in the performance of professional duty, the President awarded the honorary title of Honored Journalist of South Ossetia to Ruslan Gusarov.

For his great personal contribution and the breakthrough of the information blockade during the Georgian aggression against the Ossetian people in August 2008, Vadim Goncharov was awarded the Order of Friendship.

In 2008, he, along with Ruslan Gusarov, was in the Republic and was covering the operation to protect South Ossetia from the Georgian aggression. Since October 2022, Goncharov has been in the special military operation zone. In mid-June, he was seriously injured at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station and underwent several operations. Goncharov is currently undergoing treatment, and his comrades received a reward for him.
