A delegation of the Federation Council of Russia will fly from Moscow to South Ossetia on Thursday to take part in the festive events in Tskhinval on August 26, said Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee.
He has stressed that the events of August 2008 are memorable - they are well remembered.
"This was the first time that the West's long-term course towards the forcible development of the post-Soviet space faced the opposition from the people of South Ossetia. Russia's participation in repelling Saakashvili's aggression was energetic and promoted to win," Karasin said.
In South Ossetia, on Saturday, August 26, it will be celebrated the Day of Recognition of Independence - on this day 15 years ago, after forcing Georgia to peace, the Russian Federation recognized the sovereignty of the Republic.
