President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, who had arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the 22nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on socio-economic cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.
According to the press service of the South Ossetian leader, during the conversation, Alan Gagloev thanked the head of the Russian delegation for Russia’s assistance and support for South Ossetia.
“This is your first time in South Ossetia and I hope that you will be satisfied with the results of our joint work. I would like to note that with the beginning of your work in the South Ossetian direction, our cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level,” the President said.
At the same time, the head of the South Ossetian state expressed hope for fruitful work within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission.
In turn, Alexander Novak thanked Alan Gagloev for the warm welcome.
“Relations between our countries are at a high level. This year you had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, during which the prospects for trade and economic relations between our countries were discussed. As a co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission, I will promote the socio-economic development of South Ossetia, trade and economic relations, as well as the implementation of social programs that are planned or are already being implemented,” he said.
Alexander Novak has noted that he discussed a number of new projects with the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of South Ossetia, co-Chairman of the IGC for the South Ossetian part, Konstantin Dzhussoev, which are also aimed at improving the socio-economic level of South Ossetia.
“New projects will give the Republic new jobs, additional revenues to the state budget, thereby helping to improve people’s living standards,” he said.
Alexander Novak assured Alan Gagloev of the continued support for the Republic of South Ossetia from the Russian Federation.
