On Thursday, Tskhinval gave the last honours to Alan Bestaev, a fighter of the assault battalion "Crimea", perished in the zone of the special military operation.
President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev,Russian Ambassador to the Republic Marat Kulakhmetov, Chairman of the Parliament Alan Margiev, the head of the administration of the city of Tskhinval Alan Gabaraev, the heads of ministries and departments of the Republic, relatives and friends came to bid farewell to the fighter and express their condolences to the family.
"Alan was a brave man, always ready to help. His heart was big and filled with kindness and love," a representative of the Bestaev family said at the funeral.
By decree of President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Alan Bestaev was posthumously awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal.
The fighter perished on December 8 in the Zaporizhzhye direction. He was 44 years old.
