Ambassador of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev took part in the event on the occasion of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian-Nicaraguan diplomatic relations.
The Russian Embassy in Nicaragua has prepared a virtual exhibition dedicated to significant events and important milestones in the history of bilateral relations, the press service of the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia reports. The exhibition materials reflect the main stages of the formation of the Russian-Nicaraguan partnership, the foundation of which was laid in the 80s of the 20th century.
"Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov has noted that both countries are very optimistic about their common future and maintain a very rich political dialogue," the statement reads.
Today, Nicaragua is one of Russia's key partners in Central America.
Nicaragua became the first country after Russia to recognize the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008
